Pretty cool to see something like this in my Twitter timeline! President Obama just tweeted on his account, encouraging people to check out LGBT Pride events happening in various locations. When clicking the link attached to the tweet, it leads to his site with an area to type in a zip code to find the nearest Pride event. Also on the site is information about Obama’s involvement with the LGBT community, in addition to merchandise adorned with the phrase “LGBT for Obama.”

Now, if there’s anything I learned during all my years of tweeting, it’s that many celebrity figures don’t manage their own accounts. It could very well be that it wasn’t Obama himself who tweeted this message. However, the fact that it was even approved to be associated with the President’s name is good news, so I’m all for it!
