The last time I posted Disney characters from an alternate universe, we looked at Disney Princesses that weren’t exactly damsels in distress. Now, we take a look at more classic Disney characters going bad. Take a look below, and be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart…sorta.

Despite critic reviews that were less than what Pixar is used to, their latest movie, Brave, did very well at the box office this weekend. So, after this, exactly how many No. 1 movies does Pixar have under its belt?

“Brave” didn’t receive the type of critical response that Pixar is used to, but audiences don’t seem to care. The animated family adventure earned $24.5 million on Friday night, putting it on track for $66 million or more by Sunday night. That gives Pixar its 13th straight number one film at the box office.

At this point, I feel like no matter what the critics say, Pixar will always own the box office every time another of their movies comes out.

Have you seen Brave yet?

I’m a HUGE fan of the first Monster’s Inc. (Yes, I cried at the end of it, deal with it!) so to hear that not just one, but FOUR new trailers of the upcoming sequel ‘Monsters University’ were released is great news! Actually, these four clips are apparently different cuts of the full teaser trailer, set to be shown before the movie, Brave, coming out this weekend. But I know it’s hard to wait that long, so start watching below!

You can watch the rest of the clips over on the Monster’s University Facebook page.

It used to be that when I thought of Pixar, I thought of this unstoppable movie-making machine that couldn’t be stopped. Movie after movie, Pixar just got better and better. While I still think highly of Pixar, the studio isn’t looking too good ratings-wise. Reviews for Pixar’s upcoming CG animated movie, Brave, have been trickling in, and on Rotten Tomatoes, the current score is 73%. This is a “Fresh” rating, but what happened to the days when Pixar had no movies that went below 90%?

My heart sunk when I saw Pixar get its first “Rotten” rating with Cars 2, and I know Rotten Tomatoes isn’t always an accurate indication of a movie’s quality (especially when not all reviews have come in), but I’m starting to feel this way about Brave. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited to see the movie, but the Disney fan in me is hoping the magic of Pixar doesn’t fade away.

What do you think of the Brave’s score so far?

As a Disney fan, I played through the first Epic Mickey video game on the Wii. While it wasn’t as epic as I had hoped for, it still was entertaining and there were many parts that I enjoyed playing through. Best of all, the game introduced me to Oswald, and the history of how Mickey Mouse came to be the iconic face of Disney.

At E3, the trailer for Epic Mickey’s sequel was shown, and it looks like it has potential. I think my favorite part is that Oswald has become Mickey’s ally rather than a rival. Especially since I’ve grown to like Oswald very much (Mickey will always be my all time favorite Disney character though!)

Watch the trailer for Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two below!

What do you think? Will you go out and buy this game?

As you’ve hopefully seen from my most recent posts, I got to go to a sneak preview event and experience the new Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, opening on June 15! These are the newest additions to the Disney California Adventure theme park, and these were worth the wait!

Buena Vista Street (vlog coming soon) replaces the old California Adventure entrance, and is designed to look like the California Walt Disney experienced when he first walked onto the fine state.

I’ll save most of the cool stuff for the vlog, but I remembered some pictures I took with Mickey. The cool thing about Buena Vista Street being modeled after California in the 1920s is new 20s themed character costumes!

I know it’s totally cliché to have Mickey as a favorite Disney character, but we share the same birthday, so I feel I have a strong connection with the mouse :) Doesn’t he look great, by the way?

Thanks to Disney PhotoPass for the pictures! Stay tuned for the conclusion to be preview event vlog series!

Last time I shared my experience of walking into Cars Land for the first time, riding Luigi’s Flying Tires, and exploring the beautiful scenery. Now, I have on-ride footage of Radiator Springs Racers, which is by far the best part of Cars Land. If you are going to be visiting the park when Cars Land officially opens on June 15th, I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT WATCHING THIS VIDEO, as it will spoil the experience for you. If, however, you won’t be able to visit the park anytime soon or don’t care about having the experience spoiled, watch as much as you want!

Needless to say, this video doesn’t do the actual experience any justice…

Pretty sweet my first time riding, I got to be in Lightning McQueen :) Because the crowd wasn’t too huge, I got to ride on it twice! There are two different routes you can take right before the racing portion, and both times I got to go into Luigi’s Tire Shop to get my tires changed before racing. Apparently, the other route takes you to get a new paint job!

What do you think of the ride? Let me know in the comments below, and click here for Part 2!

This weekend is a special preview weekend for the new section of the Disney California Adventure theme park known as Cars Land. I was able to attend the preview event yesterday morning, and I posted Part 1 of my vlog series documenting my experience through the new land! Look below for Part 2, where I spot Lightning McQueen and Mater rolling through the park, check out some of the great scenery, and get ready to ride Radiator Springs Racers! That is by far the best part of Cars Land, and that will come in Part 3!

Are you ready for Radiator Springs Racers?

If you’ve been following Disney news, you’ll know that Cars Land is set to open in Disney California Adventure next week on June 15th. You’ll also know that this is a BIG DEAL among Disney fans. While last year saw the addition of the new Star Tours at Disneyland and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure in CA Adventure, an entire new land opening this summer is once again…a BIG DEAL.

A personal big deal is that I was able to attend a special preview event thanks to DaMouse.com! Da Mouse is a great site dedicated to keeping Disney fans updated on the latest news, and keeping fans connected to Disney Parks through trip reports and other great site features! Be sure to check it out!

Another thing to check out is my vlog on the preview event! A lot happened today, so I’m splitting the experience up into parts, so check out Part One below!

If you thought the shaky cam in The Hunger Games was bad, I apologize in advance for my vlog! I’m new to the outdoor vlogs and this was my first one! But hopefully you enjoyed the video, and stay tuned for the next one! Until then, be sure to head over to DaMouse.com for excellent pictures of the preview event!
