It’s weird. As someone who eventually grew to love Rebecca Black’s “Friday,” I wanted to hate her follow up song, “Saturday.” I saw the announcement and rolled my eyes. But then…the music started. And dammit, it’s a pretty good pop song. And you can see how much she’s improved since her nasally debut.
As for the video itself, there are a ton of popular YouTubers in there, including guest vocalist, Dave Days. The references to “Friday” are also pretty cool, too. Overall, I’m a fan of “Saturday,” and hopefully, you are too!

It’s funny how much a music video can do wonders in terms of helping to understand the meaning of a song. When I first heard “House of Gold,” I knew it had to do with the bond between a mother and child. Specifically, a son promising to take care of his mother even after he’s on his own. But after seeing the video, gotta admit that I kinda teared up a bit. The idea of being independent is great and is a huge milestone in life, but separating yourself from the people who helped get you to where you are today…it’s gonna be a tough thing to go through for me when the time comes. But you can be damn sure that any success I have will be the success of my parents, too.
This was beautiful. Music is beautiful.
Umm…am I the last one to discover that 98º has a new album? WHAT?!
I clicked on this video because it was on my Facebook feed, and it had a scandalous thumbnail. In all honesty, I thought I would regret watching this video because it looked like one of those spammy links. But I am SOOOO glad I watched it and know about Lil Dicky, with the hot girlfriend, the hot ex-boyfriend, and EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS AMAZING SO WHY AREN’T YOU WATCHING YET?
Sidenote: Anytime you see a really good video uploaded straight to Facebook, try to find the original source on YouTube or other video services. Very rarely do creators upload straight to YouTube, so show them some love and support where they originally posted it! <3
How does one get tired of this? Is it even possible?
In case you missed my first Jimmity Jams (which was a week ago and the last post because I suck at posting blogs), this is me letting you know what songs I’ve been hitting the replay button on in the past week. So…here we go.
Inspired by Marcus Butler’s “Sunday Sounds,” I’m gonna start a blog series where I tell you what music I’m listening to at the moment. Caution: I listen to a lot of mainstream pop that everyone else knows about, but I tend to dabble in some lesser known stuff too. So…yeah.
